Metparties
Oct 28, 2009 I spam.I made the mistake of turning back on an e-mail address that’s used to receive important stuff from a website and lo and behold there’s another Spam from annas@metparties.com – they’ve been spamming various e-mail addresses of mine for years now; clearly Val Ndabai, its founder, isn’t too worried about the source of the e-mails it spams or about the niceties of UCE directives.
They’re now using I-Promoter to send the spams too.

And look! Two new user registrations from the two e-mail addresses noted above!

Dear Web Man,
Thank you for your listing. I’ve no idea how your email found its way on the database as we’ve solely adopted an ‘opt in’ process for the last 3 years. I should hope you are no longer receiving correspondence. As someone who hates spam myself, I would’ve welcomed you bringing it to my attention to ensure the correct removal of all your email addresses. It really serves us no purpose whatsoever to send mail to those who wish not to receive it. We’ve used very supportive companies such as Sign up to and Ipromoter who share the same ethos. I’ve paid subscription fees running into the thousands to ensure we have a clearly defined opt out, unsubscribe and do not contact list option. Again, we can only apologise and state it was 100% unintentional. One hopes your lack of recent posts suggests the issue has been resolved in the last 6 months. I welcome any response – val@metparties.com

Good Afternoon,
My name is Annas (Head of Events, Metparties). I’ve recently found your posting and can only apologise for the emails you have received.
As you have noted, we have changed providers as we had regularly been let down by various management systems in relation to unsubscribing, hard bounces and other methods that we use to try our best to provide relevant content to those who want it. It’s not an excuse for your inconvenience but as a small, young business it was the best we could maintain until now.
I would like to offer to search for your email address and personally remove it from any/all of our systems.
Apologies again & best regards,
Annas
